This year’s Opencast summit taking place in Ghent University is all about taking stock and identifying priorities for the next stage of development. Opencast is a community of developers and university AV providers working together to discuss, develop, define and document best practices for the management of audiovisual content in academia. This summit is dedicated to the use and management of academic video in general and Opencast in particular and what makes it quite unique is the in-depth development collaboration across borders. Big news from this summit is the plan to create a new Opencast Video Portal which will be 100% under the control of the hosting university.
